$2,500

Three weeks in the Making for this 30x40 inch painting. Has some 85 colors (not over 100 as previously advertised as I removed something that I felt later to clutter the scene), 32,000 pixels, and 100 hours.

This is the scene where X is about to be killed by Vile and Zero comes in and saves his neck! Zero then gives X the speech about his potential and how he will one day surpass even Zero himself. Great opening scene that helped rope me right into the game.

Be sure to check out the extra shots in my scraps [link]

Wow, this is your best one yet. I must say you've inspired me to make my own "scene" now. :) (but don't expect it soon, it's gonna be a while)

:jawdrop: Woah, this is so impressive. I haven't played the game but I presume you removed something from the background, and I think you are right in that it would have cluttered the scene. I understand that this is a commission? How much are you going to charge for over a hundred hours of labor :/ I have to say this is really well executed and it is a great scene.

OOh I'd love to see it!

Nah this was something for myself so to speak. Yeah, there was a ship above them about to pick Vile (the purple dude) up. No matter how I placed it it seemed to "squash" the whole image.

I'm having some trouble coming up with a price to sell this. If I were to give an estimate, I'd have to say it would be from 850 to 1000. But truth be told I don't want to sell it! I was pondering the idea of getting a gallery together if possible. Can't say I'd have a clue how to make that come to fruition though :\ .

I know what you mean, I've never sold anything and I'm not sure whether I'd really like to either. I always feel rather attached to my drawings after spending a lot of hours on them, and I think I'd really need the money to part with them. When I first read the 850 to 1000 it sounded a bit much in my head, but after thinking a bit it came clear to me that a price of $1000 would mean that you have worked for only $10 an hour. I know that this is not exactly the same as work and I don't know if you have a thing in the US such as a minimum wage. In the UK $10 an hour would be roughly the minimum wage, while in Norway it would be half the minimum wage. I think my best advice would be to keep it for yourself at least until you become a bit more known. I think it would be a bit difficult to sell it at a decent price at this point in time, you know, a price that makes it worth the labor and doesn't give you the uncomfortable feeling of being used. A gallery would not be a bad idea, you might need a bit more paintings though? I'm sure there are possibilities for you to share a gallery with other artists, but what you also could do is to ask around in museums if you could display some of your work there for, say, a month.

Oh, wow... I was trying to figure out what game would be awesome enough to inspire you to do 85 colors and 100 hours... Megaman X... that is a good answer...

And good choice to nix the ship thing... this piece is very well centered and an extra ship would have been a burdon, not to mention make it off-balance, great job... :+fav:
